In spite of what everyone says, and what recent posts here might lead you to believe, cruising can not be only about “fixing the boat in foreign ports.” We are convinced that there just has to be some time for fun! 🙂 Back when we were home owners Rebecca and I very much enjoyed entertaining and throwing parties. Our favorite parties were those based on a theme and we often had people showing up in costume. Due to the lack of space on our boat we have dispensed with most of our elaborate ‘costumage,’ but we think we have a boat-worthy solution:

We actually purchased The Original Duct Tape Halloween Book while away visiting friends in Portland, OR (be sure to check out Powell’s Books if you visit there). Although I can’t say that we have tried any of their imaginative uses for duct tape, we may just have to bust some out if/when we get invited to some masquerade party on a nearby mega yacht!

  1. Somewhere or other there is a contest, sponsored by a maker of duct tape, for the bestprom outfits made entirely from duct tape, which now comes in colors! Our vet had a card hanging on his wall, given him by his daughters, showing a picture of the Titanic. From below decks is a little balloon, “Let me get my duct tape and I can fix this!”
