If you’ve had enough talk of anchors you can skip to the end of this post. I’ll post some bikini pics there. 🙂

We received another anchor the other day, a used 10 KG Fortress, bringing the total number of anchors aboard Katana to three. This lightweight anchor will be easy to deploy from the stern if we need to set two to deal with tide shifts, storms, etc.

As we were having issues keeping the chain in our anchor rode bridle plate when setting it, we had a handy friend manufacture an aluminum “gate” for it. Thanks Chris! The gate won’t actually take any of the stress of the anchor rode. It will, however, keep the chain from slipping out though as we are putting the bridle out.

The little piece of elastic cord on the shackle pin is so I don’t drop it overboard!

I am not sure how many more times we’ll be anchoring out this year. This weekend we are busy doing a “medical preparedness” course for cruisers this Friday, attending a Chili dinner at our marina on Saturday and participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday! Busy, busy.

Rebecca is beside me right now, embraced in her latest hobby: macrame. She is currently dressing up a basket we had in the galley to hang food stuffs. I am impressed. It’s going to look awesome!

And now for the bikini pics I promised…

Sorry. I couldn’t resist. 🙂

  1. LOL @ the bikini pic 😀 Don’t forget to pack your mankini when you head south, Mike 😉 😀

  2. Someone should tell the guy in the middle to put on some clothes. He doesn’t have the build for a mankini!
