The number one cause of death for boaters in our cruising area (the Great Lakes) is apparently Hypothermia. This is one of the things that was hammered home in the medical emergency course for cruisers that we took last evening. Apparently this is not true of all boating areas, but due to the low water temperature of the Great Lakes, it is one of our greatest threats.

So, what do you do if you fall in the water? Get out of course. Duh!

Hypothermia, head injuries, allergies, disease control and more were addressed at the seminar which both Rebecca and I found helpful.

On a much less morbid topic here are a couple of galley additions to increase our workspace. The smaller cutting boards over the sink were obtained from the dollar store and they fit perfectly sans modification. The larger one was acquired during our recent trip to IKEA and with just a little bit of shaving off the bottom, it fits perfectly over the cooktop when it’s not in use.
