In case you didn’t notice the new ads in the right-hand sidebar, I’d like to give a shout out to our two new sponsors. First up is Desperate Sailors. Last December I wrote about this up-and-coming cruising resource and since that time, our friend John Perry, the engine behind the website, has continued to add to its functionality. You can recruit crew, find jobs, list free classified ads, check the weather, read and post blogs and more all on that one site. If you haven’t already done so, visit the site and set up a free account. It’s what all the “cool kids” are doing these days. 🙂

Second up is Alternate Latitude, owned by our friend Steve Schlosser. Rebecca and I first crossed paths with Steve way back in the Bahamas and then later again in the Virgin Islands. Since that time Steve has traded in his monohull for a beautiful Voyage 440 catamaran on which he is now offering captained charters. Steve and the boat are currently in Galveston, TX but will be making their way to the Virgin Islands later this year, offering charter opportunities both along the way after they arrive there. Here is the best news: If you use the discount code ZTC when you book a trip with them, you’ll save $500.00. Seriously, a five hundred dollar deduction off the standard price! That’s no small chunk of change so make sure you enter that code. And for those who are always thinking about our best interests, yes, Steve has promised that he’ll reward us as well for each of our readers who choose to join him aboard Alternate Latitude. I know that many people have to book their vacations months ahead of time so if you’re thinking of going sailing later this year, here is a great chance.

And don’t keep either of these websites and offers a secret. On the contrary, please share them with your friends, including the ZTC discount code for the Alternate Latitude charters. The more the merrier!

A note to potential advertisers/sponsors: If you have a product or service which you feel may be of interest to ZTC readers, please contact us: zero to cruising ATT gmail DOTT com.

  1. Hi Mike …

The photo you have put up looks suspiciously like a Maxim 38 called Durban Dancer. Pretty sure it’s not a Voyage. We know the previous owner of this Maxim – that’s why the name on the transom caught my eye.

  2. If I didn’t already book my charter in October, I would have tried to get on the trip from Texas….Need some offshore experience….
