Although I don’t have stats on this, I suspect that the readers of this blog are split somewhat evenly between those who already own boats and are either sailing them locally or are cruising as we are, those who are looking to acquire a boat and go cruising in the future and a few friends and family who are following along with our travels from back home. For those in the second group, here is something that may be of interest. One of the cool couples that we met here in Grenada have decided to give up on (water) cruising and purchase an RV to do some land exploration. Because of this, their boat, a beautiful Lagoon 380, is now for sale. We have been on multiple Lagoons in the past couple of years and we really like them. In fact, the couple who sold us our PDQ 32, David and Jackie, purchased a Lagoon 380 themselves. If we had the money, we would seriously consider this boat. Alas, we are unemployed thus will need to stick with our faithful ZTC. If one of our readers is in a better position to take advantage of this opportunity, that would be great. Bob and Laurie, Tranquila’s current owners, say that they will deliver the boat to any eastern Caribbean island or the east coast of the USA after purchase.

We have been on this boat and it looks to be seriously tricked-out for live-aboard cruising. Do you think we should ask for a commission if one of our readers purchases this boat?

By the way, one of our friends commented Tuesday that he thought we were “running out of material” for our blog, based upon my lack of posts during our excursion to Carriacou I assume. In truth, I never really think about it that way. Just as I’m never at a loss for words when sharing a cold beer with a fellow sailor, I never seem to find it too difficult to come up with something (at least partially) relevant to share here on this blog. If I do end up with writer’s block at some point in the future, so be it, but for the time being, I’ll continue posting. 🙂

  1. – let me know when you have friends with a 380 to sell in about 5 yrs….

  2. Any details? More info on the boat? Asking price? I’m probably not in the market (but who knows), and always trying to keep up on market values!

  3. As for running out of material for your thoroughly enjoyable blog, I can’t see any evidence for that, nor is it likely.

What some people expect is that you should move the boat every day. Then just like a fictional novel, there is a nice new chapter for each day. If you organise a charter, you have to do that for them too, move the boat every day whether you want to or not. Nonsense.

I’m in the camp that likes it as it is. Your boat is bigger and better and nicer than mine and you are in nicer places. I enjoy the blog.

    Thanks!

    • Thanks Mike. I know our friend who made that comment wasn’t thinking of it that way. He was merely commenting on the gap in daily posts. Perhaps others do feel that way though. Who knows.

Mike, I sure hope you never run out of things about which to write! I really enjoy my daily dose of ZTC. One might call it an addiction! But a good one. It’s such fun to see how much you and Rebecca are having. I think that’s what keeps me coming back. I don’t want to miss anything, and I enjoy watching people enjoy themselves. Take care, both of you.

  5. You forgot a third group who read your blog. Those who don’t have a boat and don’t plan on having one but wish they could and so live vicariously through you.

Might only be a group of one though. 🙂

  6. We’re in the soon-to-be-casting-off-the-dock-looking-for-info group and we greatly appreciate your detailed information on all subjects cruising. Keep it up!

  7. That’s one tricked out 380! If we didn’t already have ours, I’d jump on it. It’s a good price for all that’s included. For now, we are impatiently waiting for our house to sell so we can slip the lines and join you guys out there!

    • I agree… that boat is seriously set up for cruising, with many new upgrades. There were several people here at the marina looking at it already. I’m confident that boat will find itself some new owners. Hopefully if one of our readers does end up with it, they tell Bob and Laurie that they heard about it here. We may get a free beer or two out of it. 🙂
