I don’t really have any New Year’s Resolutions this year but I am constantly making goals for myself which usually focus around fitness. So what are my ‘goals’? Well, for starters, I have some ideas for this blog that I will be working on when I am not off exploring. As for other goals… well, I am making a list (as I usually do) of things I want to accomplish in the next few months (fitness and other). I find it very satisfying to check off the things that I have accomplished and enjoy having something to strive for.

One of my goals was to achieve my black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

So what is it that most people think about while lying on a beach? Well, for me, it always seems to involve getting some exercise. The other day, after making our way to a beautiful beach on Shroud Cay, Bahamas via our dinghy, I came up with the following workout that I could do while I was there:

‘Getting Shroud-ded’ beach workout:

  1. Tuck wave jumps x25
  2. Lizard walks x20
  3. Crab walk triceps dips x20
  4. Super planks x20
  5. Side plank hip drops x20/side
  6. Sprint down beach (~100m) and jog back

Repeat 4x

Doing a super plank in the sand is tricky!

Did I get strange looks from anyone while I was doing this workout? Of course. Did I care? Absolutely not!

Happy New Year everyone!
