Facebook’s feature where they remind you of past posts brought up this photo that we uploaded four years ago. It’s a perfect reminder to us, and to anyone out there reading this that ZTC, our beautiful PDQ 32, is still on the market!

I had a conversation with our broker the other day about what makes ZTC such a good buy. Aside from the fact that we took care of her amazingly well, she has lead a very sheltered life. Even though she was built in 2000, for the first ten years of her existence she was only fresh-water sailed, and only then for half the year, shrink-wrapped on land the remaining months. We left Canada to take her south in August 2010, and she was our home until 2013. As detailed on our blog, she was then hauled out in June 2013, just under 4 years after leaving Canada, and painstaking care was taken to preserve her. When you consider all this, it’s no wonder she shows so well!

  1. Spot on Mike, folks asked when we cashed out to buy our cat if it was the “right time”.
My reply was that we weren’t sure, but were positive it wasn’t the wrong time.
Go big, go small doesn’t matter. What does matter is you go. Time is a nonrenewable resource.

  2. You temp me sir. However, it would take a lottery win to make that happen right now. Sigh. My winter sailing plans have been placed on hold due to unexpected family responsibilities.

I am all too aware that all we have in life is time.

  3. How about a raffle for ZTC? It seems everyone following along, reading, dreaming of the life you are living wants to, but can’t afford to get started. I don’t know how many people are following, or read your words, but most are aware of ZTC being for sale, and a group funding kind of lottery may be possible. If you have 500 followers, it’s only $230 per person. Of course you could always keep the option of cancelling if there isn’t enough participation, or reducing the cost for each if you have more participants. Any funds could go in escrow just like a regular boat sale, as for drawing the winner, who knows, maybe a double blind elimination with subsequent repeat buy-ins for those eliminated. This may be a ridiculous idea, but it would certainly be unique.

  4. I believe Totum uses the Iridium Go. Check with their blog. Safe sailing, S/V Soaring Eagle.
