I know you love reading about all of the boat chores that we have to do down here. And who doesn’t enjoy a good tale of head repair, complete with messy photographs? You should know though that we’ve adopted a trait from the French islands… we quit work at just after noon and may or may not start up again in late afternoon. Most likely, not!

The stainless is so shiny you now need sunglasses to look at our boat!

I had to remove the faucet in order to take the sink out. Who came up with that idea?

Oh yes, that is what the bolts which held the sink down looked like, after I broke all but one of them off during the sink-removal process.

Yesterday, after re-bedding the galley sink and finishing up polishing the stainless, we went over to Earthling to help them check the integrity of their whisker pole. It worked. 🙂

No, I didn’t try it. I sacrificed by staying in the dinghy to take these pics. 🙂

  1. I’m guessing here, only one day and night without a sink? Not bad.

  2. So if you get up at 11:00 am and stop work at noon, I could do that!!! I think if I was cruising full time, I would get an early start every morning to stay out of the heat, be done at 10:00 am with boat stuff and enjoy the rest of the day…..What time do you guys typically go to sleep…

    • We get up between 6 and 7 every day. Work doesn’t start until after we have had coffee and BF, the blog gets updated and workouts are done. It is wise to get boat work done early, especially during the summer months! As for what time we go to sleep, sometime 9:30 or 10:00 if there’s nothing going on. On other nights, if we’re socializing, it’s way past midnight (real midnight, not cruisers midnight).

  3. The Whisker pole swing was fun, thanks for taking and posting pictures!

  4. Those “whisker pole test” photos look more like shark bait dangling from the end of a nice sturdy spinning rod! Seriously, that looks like a blast.

  5. I quote:

“No, I didn’t try it. I sacrificed by staying in the dinghy to take these pics. :)”

Michael, we truly appreciate the sacrifices you have to make on our behalf.

  6. Even the French judges gave Rebecca a perfect 10 on her upside down swing. Painkillers all around for the entire crew!

  7. Okay, this is totally unrelated. Over the past bunch of months, I have observed that generally your timing on leaving an anchorage may just coincide with the filling of your holding tank?

    • Um, no. But I’m curious, do you somehow have inside info on how often we use the head? Is there a hidden camera somewhere? 😉

  8. Shouldn’t a whisker pole be on a Cat-amaran?

  9. I need a like button (or a Cool, or an Awesome button) on some of your photos, *and* some of the comments. Great fun in those photos. You guys are watering the dream gardens for the rest of us.

  10. Mike, Rebeca,

Looks like the wisker pole stood up to the tests. And yes Tanya and I are still following you two just about daily. I love your web-site.

  11. Quit work at noon … man that sounds good to us!
