Although late as usual from our Canadian perspective, the Americans are celebrating Thanksgiving today. 🙂 This is the day when many blog authors will no doubt post about all that they are thankful for. Not one to break with tradition (actually I am but I’ll play along anyway), today we are thankful that we now have in our possession a Canadian registered Epirb! I wrote about our acquiring this device back in October when we were still living on the boat. We only just yesterday received the unit back from having the 5-year battery replaced. We now have until March 2015 (not at all sure how they came up with that date) before we have to deal with that again. The device is still not registered to our boat of course. I couldn’t do that until is was re-programmed for Canada (we bought it used from a guy in the states). I am pretty sure we do the registration with these guys.

We are, of course, thankful for a whole lot more than our silly safety device described above. By this time next year we plan on being somewhere in the US to share some Turkey with our southern neighbors, and we are definitely thankful for that!

  1. Hey Mike, saw your web page, good stuff. Nice to see you guys are going cruising, its a great experience. I spent 16 ish years at PDQ building, comissioning and the last 6 traveling up and down the eastern seaboard with my wife fixing PDQ’s. If we can be of any help, let us know. James

    • Hi James

Thanks for the post. I have seen your name and your posts on the PDQ forum. Where are you currently located? We need LOTS of help:)

      Mike
