Want to get your boat across the ocean but not interested in taking it there yourself, or hiring a delivery skipper to do the passage for you? A yacht carrier could do the job for you!

This vessel, the Yacht Express, from Dockwise Yacht Transport, made it’s way into Le Marin the other day to discharge its cargo. Cargo that included several multi-million-dollar mega yachts!

  1. You two would never use this service– Would you??

    • Who can say? There is a time and a place for everything. I actually received a private message from a friend telling me that they were about to use this company to ship their boat. Perhaps they’ll share their thoughts on the subject here some day.

I know two other couples who opted to ship their boats past the pirate-plagued waters near Africa, albeit not on one of these float-on type ships.

  2. Last year I inquired, on speculation – for shipping our 32T Roberts 53 from Thailand to Turkey. The quote was for $ 64K USD. Mind you, if I held off, it would get cheaper as I got to the departure port, but its still quite expensive. For us, I don’t think this is really an affordable option. Its out of our price range. We’ll just keep sailing West.
