The best shower ever!

Although, without a doubt, not a trek for everyone, yesterday’s hike to the seldom-visited Tufton Hall Waterfalls was a great adventure for Rebecca and I, and our three friends. There were muddy trails to follow, rivers to cross and wade through, boulders to scramble over and around, and even sheer rock faces to climb and later, repel down. The reward for all that effort was a spectacular fresh-water shower in Grenada’s highest waterfall, something that few people will experience. We were especially happy when one of our friends who accompanied us, who is not a big hiker, told us that it was “the most fun he had had, ever!” That’s a pretty strong statement.

Unfortunately, after returning from our hike, I was greeted with a laptop computer that refuses to start. This is particularly frustrating because the laptop, just under a year old, worked just fine when I left in the morning. Could the cat have sabotaged it as we were out? I really hope I can get it working again today, and so does Rebecca, so I won’t have to keep borrowing her computer!

Fresh-water spring.

I need to get up there?

This required some definite upper-body strength.

And some confidence!

We made it!

One of two high cascades.

You can’t beat a shower like this!

What goes up, must come down.

Cleaning off in the river after a great day of hiking.

Love your pics and posts! Although we will one day cruise, I am not so certain we will hike and climb as confidently as you and Rebecca, so I love living vicariously through you. Beautiful pics and scenery.

Thanks, Rosemary. There are many nice walks in the islands that don’t require that level of athleticism. We enjoy those too.

Are you guys planning a trip to see you new grandbaby?
They can be a real game changer.
Our youngest grandchild just turned one.
Grand kids are such a blessing!

Not a place you’d want to take a fall!

A comment on your computer not starting up – If it’s the PC (HP?) you bought awhile back, try removing the battery for a minute, and reinstall. I have an HP that sometimes won’t boot up. That has always worked for me in the past.

    Good luck!

      Agreed!

Sadly, no, were talking about my MacBook pro, which after hours and hours of troubleshooting, may need to be sent back. :(

Any idea of the round trip mileage? Elevation gain?

That is one scary looking hike!

Really not sure. It took about 1.5 hrs each way but we hike fairly fast. Elevation is hard to gauge because we were following the river mostly. There were no real hills but we did do a lot of climbing.
