There are some things that must be experienced to be believed, the Grand Canyon obviously among them. Like the vast majority of people, I have seen numerous photos of the Grand Canyon. None of them prepared me for the real thing though. Rebecca and I are both very happy that we took the time to stop; the memories will stay with us forever. The only downside to our trip is that we took too many photos to process and share before we set off again on the road today.

Hopefully next time we visit we’ll be able to hike the area.
Even better, we’d love to raft the Colorado River to get the view from the bottom up.

This Saturday, our host Michael will be holding an open-house party at his home in Loveland for some of his friends. We’ve been given the opportunity to invite all of our blog readers from the area. If you live in CO and would like to drive to Loveland to join us for some drinks, snacks and good conversation, leave a comment on this post saying so and I’ll send you an email with the details and directions. We’d really love to have the chance to put a face to some of the nice comments that we receive!

  1. Loveland? Seriously? Is Michael a swinger?

Those pics make me think seeing the grand canyon will be added to my bucket list.

    • Are you basing that solely on the name Loveland or do you have some Colorado experience that you’d like to share with the group? 😉

      • I thought Loveland was the house name didnT realize it was a town name.

Parties, hot tub, swanky home , flashy car, it all kinda fit. I just read too much nd have a crazy imagination. Not sure it would be for me, but intriguing concept.

  2. OMG, guys! How’s about meeting up with ‘old friends’ as opposed to putting faces to new ones?! We’re flying down to Colorado on Friday in advance of flying to Europe next week for a couple months. Would love to drive up & see you guys on Saturday!!

  3. Mark and I had planned a hiking/rafting trip in the Grand Canyon when we found out we were expecting. 🙂 Never mind when Kitty is a bit older we will take her along. Can’t wait to see the photos! Since you have internet, you need to see this description of a Grand Canyon rafting trip. Maybe I love Jeanne Robertson because she sounds like my grandmother, but this is a hilarious story about the Grand Canyon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeUdZ2VkG30
    Enjoy!

  4. Oooo, I might be able to make a Saturday party in Loveland. When? I’ll be racing sailboats up by Breckenridge during the day, but it might be worth the drive to hang out with more sailors! Email me.

  5. I would love to come up and actually meet you guys in person.

  6. Hey guys…would love to meet you! We are in Colorado Springs, but headed up to Wyoming this weekend. When will Michael have his get-together? Maybe we can swing by on our way north!

    Hope to see you!

    Mike

    Glad you enjoyed Arizona.
We should have driven up from Phoenix to meet you.

  8. Glad you guys are enjoying your whirlwind trip across the western US.

Depending on the time Saturday, my wife and I would love to stop by and say hi. I’d also love to get Michael’s secret for shopping for a boat from Colorado…we’ve found it to be quite challenging.
