The other day I mentioned Livia’s excellent Interview With a Cruiser project website. I am both happy and humbled to announce that she chose Rebecca and me to be featured as her first interview subjects on her brand new Newly Salted blog. Please check out the interview and post your comments here and on her site!

Also, I am happy to announce that we were able to successfully break in our new pole spears yesterday, netting one lobster in the process. Tasty!

Going hunting.

Beautiful coral.

Cassandra diving down.

First blood!

A nice big lobster that Jeff caught.

An awesome bonfire.

Celebrating.

Fish fry.

Heading home.

  1. I noticed the interview earlier today, and was pleasantly surprised to see ya’ll were the first. Congrats! We can’t believe it’s been over 5 months already!

Being from Louisiana, you gotta try boiling Lobster with Crab Boil (not sure if you can get it there), cayenne, salt and a little sugar. So good!

  2. I can’t think of a better first boat! Thank *you two*.

  3. I saw your interview, and thought it was really good. She couldn’t have made a better first choice! And you have the usual assortment of wonderful pictures!

  4. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout! Great pics.

  5. I saw your interview and i thought it was excellent. As stated above i also really like your assortment of pictures, i always look forward to reading your blog every day and dream of the day when we can do the same thing you are doing.

  6. Congratulations on being the first of the newly salted. I’ve been following you for a short while and really enjoy your posts and pictures. My wife and I hope to be back cruising by next year. You have a long slog to windward ahead of you if you follow the islands. Once you make Antigua you can skate down the islands to Granada. Good luck!

Good interview & well answered 🙂 grit picks ‘as always” & i take it that cray / Lobster was spear gunned ? and if there is one sport that will keep you both fit is free diving

  8. Good job guys…Hopefully I will be interviewed someday!

  9. Loved the interview. Great answers to some really good questions.

And I just love the photos on here. I am thinking I will need to buy that same camera before I head out on my next vacation. It really does a wonderful job.

    And… nice lobster!!
