Sailing is great but I wouldn’t want to do it alone, which is why I feel so blessed that seven years ago today my soulmate Rebecca said “I do!”

How confident was I that the two of us were meant to be together? On the (Canadian) Thanksgiving Weekend in 2002, I played the following video proposal to Rebecca in front of her entire family and various visiting neighbors. Yes, some tears were shed (not mine) and thankfully yes, she said yes. 🙂

Please excuse the poor video quality. This clip came from a (gasp!) VHS tape! Hopefully the Youtube police don’t kill the audio on it.

Our special day…

We carry a (artificial) rose on our boat as a reminder of this moment.

She has always been a killer!

and she continues to amaze me daily!

Yes, we were married by the water with boats nearby. No wedding party members were injured during the shooting of this photograph, although one came close!

    • And so the secret has been revealed… Rebecca ALWAYS proofs my posts before I publish them. This post I did as a surprise though, while she is still in bed sleeping. Just one more reason why I need her. 🙂

Happy Anniversary to both of you. May the years to come be even better than those which have gone. Lovely wedding pictures, by the way.

    • Thank you Helen. We were fortunate in that we had a great wedding photographer and at least the female portion of the wedding party was (and is) photogenic. 🙂
