Norman Island (cont.)
After enjoying the area and the nice protection of the anchorage, we decided to spend a second day at Norman Island. In addition to having a second crack at snorkeling the caves (see video below), we were also able to get to shore and hike a bit. There are definitely some good hills on this island. Too bad we didn’t remember to bring a bottle of water with us when we set out!
Today we’re planning on moving over to Peter Island but on route we’ll stop at The Indians to check out what our friend Jim referred to as the best snorkeling that he has seen!
Great video … love the music! The pictures of the sailboats at anchor never cease to amaze me … so beautiful and can’t wait to have ours in there somewhere! Looking forward to hearing about today’s snorkeling. =)
Here’s a secret… The music was chosen primarily because it was the correct length for the video. It does fit though, doesn’t it?

I understand Zeus is no longer at the Willy T. Used to be, T-shirts were given out to those who met that “certain challenge” off of the fantail. Maybe things have changed?

There was no one by the name of Zues at Willie Ts yesterday. I think I read the same that he is no longer working there.
Yeah, I heard he “retired” about 2 months ago.
OK Listen up you two.
THE BEST diving in the BVI is on Anegada and here is my secret place of all the islands. When you anchor at the hotel area, take your dinghy and head east to the far end of the island. You will go over a couple of miles of sand flats and when you get to the end, you will find a conch island on the tip. Great place to a some treasure. NOW….very carefully take your dinghy further past the tip and around front of the big island and you will find an oasis of snorkelling heaven and its easy to get a couple of lobsters there as well. There is lots of colour left in the corral and the fish life is outstanding and you will have it all to yourself. You can go ashore but there isn’t all that much to see but exploring in a dinghy is the most fun you will ever have there. Give er a try Mate!!!

We were just talking about how awesome the Bahamas are last night. In some ways it can’t be beat.

Norman Island, home of Pirates Bight Bar, Restaurant, and Gift Shop, is perhaps most famous for being the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel, Treasure Island. However, Norman Island also has a rich documented history of acting as a hiding spot for Pirate booty.Documented history for the island dates back to the early 18th century when a Spanish galleon called Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe buried 55 chests of silver coins after the crew mutinied aboard the ship.
Awesome video, it reminds me of the video my SCUBA instructor in Hawaii made when my son, Brandon and I dove Oahu and I received my Open Water certification.
