Playing pool at Kaye’s Bar. Sand floor = awesome ambiance.

Our friends Wade and Maureen heading out surfing. The day prior to this they had quite an adventure while scouting the surf zones. A rogue wave broke over them and flipped their dinghy. They had to walk about 3 miles back to the marina dragging the dinghy along. Fortunately no one was hurt and they got the engine started again.

While our friends were surfing, we were snorkeling. Here is one of several rays that we saw while we were in the water. Sorry, no pics of big fish. There definitely were some but when we saw them, we were too busy stalking them to take photos.

After getting thoroughly chilled we moved onto some land exploration.

Ruins outside “the saltpond.”

Because the current was at full ebb, we couldn’t bring the dinghy right into The Saltpond so we were trying to walk in. The water was a bit deep for that though.

A full moon is as good a reason as any to have a big party.

It started with a potluck dinner hosted by Sumner Point Marina. Great food and company!

A big fire pit formed the gathering place on the beach.

Everyone was invited.

Remember that weird statue I posted a picture of?

Most awesome thing heard in recent months: At the full moon party, after setting ablaze the giant man, Bobby, the local marina owner, was telling the kids to light palm branches and then go “run (down the beach) with fire.” RUN WITH FIRE! I am pretty sure that never before has an adult said that to a child. LOL
