We’ve been a bit busy this week to post regularly but I wanted to jump on here quickly and wish everyone who invests time in visiting our blog a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are once again fortunate to have another fantastic group of guests with us on board One Love. This fun and interesting family from Texas own Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first bourbon distillery outside of the state of Kentucky!

Note: The Garrisons have not yet turned us into bourbon converts but you never know. On Christmas Eve they gifted us with a bottle of their award winning bourbon and we’re excited to try it.

Similar to our first charter, the weather has been a bit challenging. At times we’ve had both rain and high winds, including some gusts over 40 knots. That isn’t stopping us from having a great time though. We’ve visited White Bay at Jost Van Dyke, played in the Bubbly Pool, explored The Baths and snorkeled The Indians, The Caves and The Wreck of the Rhone. In contrast to all that action, last night we sought out some peace and solitude and found it at Savannah Bay. This pristine anchorage was super calm and believe it or not, we had it all to ourselves. That doesn’t happen too often in the BVI!

45.7 knots. Very happy we were not underway when we recorded this gust!

A bit of clouds are obscuring the sunrise this morning
but this beach is still a great view to wake up to.

What’s on tap for the rest of the week? That’s still to be decided. The weather will, no doubt, play a factor in our decision making but regardless of what we choose to do, I’m sure it’ll be a blast! I hope everyone else is having an equally enjoyable holiday. One Love!

I took this rainbow picture at Savannah Bay. We were on our way back from exploring the copper mine ruins. It looks like a tricky entrance but if the winds are right would be a nice secluded anchorage.
    Cheers!
