Just a couple of fun videos…

Before setting off cruising, we never really understood what it meant to navigate through coral heads. Although this is being done in our dinghy as opposed to the mother ship, this video should give you some idea about what it’s like. The water in between the heads is easily 10 to 20 feet while the massive coral heads reach, in many places, right out of the water. Running into one would not be good. It’s quite a challenge finding our way through them, even with the good visibility afforded with the sun high in the sky.

If you’ve been drooling over all those sunset pics that we have been posting, here is a slightly faster-than-realtime video of a recent sunset here that you can enjoy. I know, it’s not quite the same as being here but it’s the best we can do.

This post is being made as we’re getting hit by a nice little rain squall with wind gusting to around 30. A good time to hide out on the boat!

  1. Thanks for taking a video of the coral, as it does give us a much better idea of what it’s like out there. It does look quite challenging! The sunset video is pretty cool too!

  2. Incredible video through the coral heads. It reminded me of watching someone play a video game. In this case, you only get one life…and it’s a real one!

  3. I just watched these with Zach nd he said, “Oh mom, that is so fakey-fakey!” I told him it was the real deal, but he doesn’t believe a place can be that pretty. Just wait kid.

  4. My eyeball’s are still bouncing up and down. LOL
