Rebecca and I have been diligently monitoring the weather fairly, looking for a bit of break in the wind/waves so that we’d have a pleasant sail back to Grenada. It had been looking as if that break was going to occur on Sunday, but when we checked the forecast yesterday, it seemed as if today, Friday, was now going to be the best day to leave. Obviously, it pays to keep checking.

We’ll be raising anchor shortly, with the intention to sail direct to Grenada. This should take us a little over 24 hours, putting us there some time Saturday morning. Of course, our plans may change while en route so if we don’t check in, don’t worry. We’ll get there eventually.

Last night’s sunset, as seen from St. Anne, Martinique.

  1. Mike,
How accurate do you find the wind forecasting sites?
I use Windguru and Windfinder and I find that, at least here in Toronto, reality is something different. I am fortunate in that from our condo balcony we look southwest over Lake Ontario which is .5 Km south of us. I can see which way the waves are breaking at the entrance to the Humber area marinas and it is often contrary to what the wind sites had predicted. Perhaps they are not as accurate for inland lakes.
Curious as to how you have found them…planned vs. actual.
    Cheers!
