FAQ 8: When are you leaving?
We’re not telling!
And primarily because we don’t know exactly. Yes, I am aware that there is a sexy little countdown timer in the right-hand sidebar of this blog, ticking away the days (recently updated from ticking away the months) but to be clear, that is only an estimate. It is entirely possible that we will “get out of dodge” a month before that time, or a month later. We learned a valuable lesson by observing our dock neighbors last summer, as they worked to prepare for their southern adventure. Apparently they had told their friends and family a “firm” date of when they would be setting sail. Well, as things often happen with boats, the preparations took a bit longer than they anticipated. And when the boat was finally ready to go, the weather didn’t really cooperate. With boat prep and weather conspiring against them, we could see that they were under a fair amount of “pressure” to get going, especially when their friends and family started to doubt their resolve.
So, as far as we are concerned, we’ll be leaving this summer, when the stars are all aligned for us to do so. Don’t worry though everyone. We’ll be sure to send out a mass email just before we cast off.
Our firm date for the Bahamas is sometime around the end of December-depending on the weather. I’ll know the exact date the day I leave!
Exactly!
