Cool stuff!

Cool is what we would be, if there was a breeze right now. Cool because we now have installed our brand new screen door, created by Barry Braithwaite, of Braithwaite Upholstery and Canvas. Barry did a great job bringing our ideas to fruition. So much so that we already have him working on two other projects for us.

I spent some time today, once again, trying to splice some rope. Specifically I was trying to figure out how to do an Eye Splice. I have to say that I am starting to feel a bit “splicing challenged.” I remember reading about how Seth from Slapdash didn’t have great success trying to figure out how to do it by following instructions in a book. I have consulted multiple books, multiple web pages and even instructional videos to no avail. 🙁 Finally I got smart. Tomorrow I have one of our friends, Peter, a lineman in the military, coming in to give us a lesson in rope splicing. Yeah Peter! He assures me with a tiny bit of hands-on instruction we will be like “duh, is this ever easy.” We’ll see.
