As seen on: Antigua
2012 January 27
When you’re on an island as pretty as Antigua, it’s hard not to get caught up in taking photographs. I noticed yesterday while sorting through our albums that we had amassed quite a few, more in fact than would be practical to share on this blog. If you’re the type who loves beautiful island scenes as much as we do, please take a few moments to check out the larger-sized photos that we posted on the Zero To Cruising Facebook Page. As always, you need not be a Facebook member to view the pics on our page.

How generous. 176 reasons to hate you guys, all in one post!
Sorry Drew.
Funny you should post all these today as I was stuck in a long commute a few hours ago thinking about a new hard drive I ordered (1TB) and how I was going to use it as a second back up for all my pictures, music and movies. I have two smaller hard drives that I have been using but they are now both full and I can’t back up any more on them. So I plan to have one dedicated to mp3’s and the other, movies and pictures. Eventually I’d like to have 3 more of the one I ordered so that I have LOTS of space to put music on one, movies on one, and pictures on the third. It got me to thinking of you guys and all the photos you’ve taken and I was wondering how you’re backing them all up so that, should your computer crash, you have them safe on another HD. But knowing that the environment you are in is hard on electronics, that method of backing up is no guarantee. So I was wondering if you use virtual storage space like iCloud or Dropbox or maybe a photo hosting site.
You may have covered this in an earlier blog but I can’t recall.
I have a 1TB Apple Time Capsule that I use for back ups. It is not plugged in all the time, working in the background as it was at home, because it runs on 100V. I back up to it only once every couple of weeks. If both that and my laptop fail, I guess I’m screwed. I have almost 29,000 photos on my computer now! The only places where our photos exist online are our blog (a minute fraction) and Facebook (still a tiny fraction but at least a higher number of them).
You certainly have a collection of BEAUTIFUL pictures! How many of them were taken with your new Go-cam?
Thanks helen. I think only 2 were taken with the GoPro. The others were all taken with the Canon D10.
