And so it begins. Within the hour we plan to raise anchor and move One Love east, closer to Compass Point Marina where we have a slip reserved for later this afternoon. Tomorrow begins 4 weeks of work for us without a single day off. It should be a good challenge.

Completing charters back-to-back takes an amazing amount of scheduling; much more than I would have thought before getting involved with this business. Deliveries, cleaning services, docking and more, all need to be coordinated in advance. I really don’t think that when we ran our business back in Canada we had to rely on so much external help. At least it didn’t seem so at the time. Wish us luck… I’m sure we’ll need it. 🙂

  1. Good luck!!!!

  2. It appears that you’re having a very successful inaugural season with One Love. Rock on!

  3. I’d wish you good luck but I don’t think you need it other than, the weather, for the enjoyment of the guests and the ease for you to keep them happy. So I’ll wish you and Rebecca the BEST of times along with all your guests! May your mechanical breakdowns be minor and few, may all your scheduled turn-over plans work out with as few glitches as possible and may all be safe without even a band-aid coming out of the first aid kit!

  4. Best wishes on that, and remember to get your 8 of sleep in between…

  5. KICK BUTT!! And have fun, but that goes without saying..

  6. You guys are more than capable. Have fun

  7. I’ve been following you guys since leaving Cananda, what a business venture you have! It’s been interesting how the charter has developed, no easy task and enlightening. Calculating the investment cost and charters, it can’t be long before it’s break even. Really cool to watch this develope, thanks.

  8. Good luck.
I supe hope you get at least a week if not more time off after the 4 weeks of constant work. Just make sure you share pics and posts.:-) happy chartering

  9. In your old business you had more downtime. – Insofar you ever get downtime while self employed.
Now you you work 24/7 while on charter, the whole charter, and also have only a short time window between charters. No chance to do the prep work while on charter either. Back in the gym you certainly prepared for he next day, every day.

No wonder that you need not only more help but also more specialized help managing a charter cat. And since good and timely help is not cheap it’s good that you tried for the top of the food chain so that your boss makes the money to pay for all of that. 😉
